Recipe: Vegan Red Wine Gravy

  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 1 cup vegan red wine
  • 2 cups vegetable stock
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1/2 tsp dried thyme
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • Salt to taste

  5. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for 10-15 minutes until it thickens. Stir occasionally.
  6. Once the gravy has thickened, season with salt to taste.
  7. Remove from heat and strain through a sieve if desired.
